Series not returning include the drama “Body of Proof” and the comedy “Happy Endings,” which both ran for three seasons; “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23,” which ran for two seasons; the first-season comedy “Malibu Country”; and “Family Tools,” “How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life),” “Red Widow,” “Splash,” and “Zero Hour,” which all premiered at midseason.

ABC is also dropping “Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show.”

Of the four series that premiered last fall, the country music drama “Nashville” and the comedy “The Neighbors” will return for second seasons, as will the cooking competition series “The Taste,” which premiered at midseason.

“We are taking some big swings with groundbreaking shows this season and staying close to our roots with smart and sophisticated storytelling,” ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee said. “ABC is known for its combination of innovation and stability, and our schedule reflects that.” ABC’s fall schedule will include eight new series, four comedies and four dramas.

Its Tuesday programming will begin with “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” based on Marvel’s movies, with Clark Gregg reprising his role of Agent Phil Coulson.

It will be followed by two comedies, including “The Goldbergs,” about the exploits of a 1980s family with a video camera-wielding 11-year-old (Sean Giambrone), his father (Jeff Garlin) and grandfather (George Segal).

“Trophy Wife” stars Malin Akerman as a reformed party girl who becomes the third wife of a man (Bradley Whitford) who she met at a karaoke bar.

The Tuesday schedule will conclude with “Lucky 7,” a drama about a group of Queens gas station employees who chip into a lottery pool. Steven Spielberg is among its executive producers.

ABC will air two new comedies on Wednesday.

“Back in the Game” stars Maggie Lawson as a former standout softball player whose life was derailed by an early pregnancy and failed marriage. She moves in with her estranged father (James Caan), a former professional baseball player, who becomes the coach of his grandson’s (Griffin Gluck) Little League team.

“Super Fun Night” is about a group of three best friends (Rebel Wilson, Liza Lapira and Lauren Ash) whose standing date every Friday night for the past 13 years is complicated when one of them gets a promotion and a new boyfriend.

“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” is based on “Alice in Wonderland” and will air at 8 p.m. Thursdays. It was created by “Once Upon a Time” creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and stars Sophie Lowe as Alice, with John Lithgow providing the voice of the White Rabbit.

“Betrayal” combines the tales of an affair between a photographer (Hannah Ware) and an attorney (Stuart Townsend) with the murder trial of the son of the attorney’s boss (Henry Thomas). It will air Sundays at 10 p.m.

The comedy “Suburgatory” was left off the fall schedule, but will return later in the season, as will “The Bachelor” and “The Taste.”
